After 35 years in medical research and over 25 publications by peer review, I wanted to indulge my lifelong passion for art. At the start of 2016, my son encouraged me to start drawing and I found myself enrolled in a portrait class and figure class at two different studios. The process began that week and I have continued to grow my abilities through daily classes and workshops these past 3 years. I continue to explore techniques and mediums while developing my own style. I love oil and charcoal but have ventured into ink and pastel. I am inspired by brushwork and composition while employing the realism and clarity of the classical approach. As a life in science is fluid and challenging every day, my method in this different world of creativity follows the same persistent approach and imagination.I’m not sure where I will end up but this path is equally challenging and rewarding.
