My artwork is primarily photography and ceramics. At my studio you will see traditional darkroom prints, photo-intaglio printmaking, alternative process photography, and photographs fired onto hand-thrown porcelain plates. My current ongoing project is “Family Heirlooms: Keepsakes for an Immigrant Family.” This work explores my family’s history as immigrant farmers striving for the American Dream. I recently completed a self-designed artist residency on the farm established by my great-grandfather in Cable, Wisconsin, funded in part by the Regional Arts Commission through an Artist Support Grant. The photographs created during my residency compliment my existing plates featuring antique family photographs.
