I develop paintings through an intuitive process of layering abstracted forms, figurative elements, expressive marks, symbols, and color. By allowing my subconscious mind and the sensual experience of creation to drive the work, I have come to explore ideas of time and space, the fantastic and mystical, nature, love, and language. I strive to evoke in the viewer a sense of lightness, wonder, and universal mystery—a recollection of some primordial or eternal experience.
In the fall of 2018, Houska Gallery exhibited My Life as an Atom, a solo show of my paintings. My work also has been exhibited locally at Art Saint Louis and Saint Charles Community College.
I hope you can make it to my studio. I'll have both finished pieces and works in progress on display, as well as refreshments and snacks. Looking forward to a day of meeting people and talking about art!
